MESSAGE FROM THE SIDO PRESIDENT
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
several new features are planned for the SIDO International Congress.
We have decided, in agreement with almost all the orthodontic scientific societies and various dental scientific societies, to concentrate the congress activities on Florence, and on the SIDO congress, respecting a "standstill" period of 30 days before and 30 days after the congress. In this way, the Italian orthodontic world will meet in Florence practically in its entirety.
In summary, we will have the following orthodontic scientific societies: AIdOr, ADSC, SIBOS, SITeBi, AIOL, SIAlign; the trade unions associations ASIO and SUSO; we will also have scientific societies of disciplines that have a close relationship with orthodontics, including:
- SIMSO (Italian Society of Dental Sleep Medicine),
- EADSM (European Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine),
- SICMF (Italian Society of Maxillofacial Surgery).
- SILPS (Italian Society for the Study and Treatment of Cleft Lip and Palate and Craniomaxillofacial Malformations),
- AIGeDO (Italian Association of Gnathology and Orofacial Pain),
- GSID (Italian Study Group on Orofacial Pain)
The cherry on the cake for Saturday and Sunday is the 8th Congress of the MOIP (Mediterranean Orthodontic Integration Project), whose president is the SIDO junior past president Prof. Letizia Perillo.
Sessions dedicated to Dental Hygienists, Orthodontic Technicians and Dental Assistants will also be held. We would like to emphasise that technicians and hygienists will be able to follow all conference sessions, including those dedicated to orthodontists.
The number of congress days has increased from 3 to 4. The SIDO congress sessions will cover Friday, while we will have pre- and post-congress courses and the congresses of orthodontic societies on Thursday and Sunday.
There will be an unmissable social evening on Saturday so that we can all have fun together.

We will bring to Florence some of the most important names in world Orthodontics, and the most promising ones, hoping to create a useful framework for everyone to improve their profession and make the right choices, in the most updated way, in addressing new and old problems.

MESSAGE FROM THE MOIP PRESIDENT
Dear friends and colleagues,
It is an honor to invite you to the 8th Mediterranean Orthodontic Integration Project (MOIP) that will be held, from the 15th to 16th October 2022, during the 53rd International Congress of the Italian Society of Orthodontics (SIDO).
The main goal of the MOIP is to build a “cultural bridge” between the northern and southern sides of the Mediterranean. We are delighted that almost all the Mediterranean Countries will participate with their excellent speakers, providing an outstanding scientific program. Two international stars will open and close the program, the Editor-in-Chief of Progress in Orthodontics, Prof. Ravindra Nanda and the President of the World Federation of Orthodontists, Prof. Nikhilesh Vaid.
The topics are truly stimulating, from Evidence-Based Orthodontics to 3D in Orthodontics, from Early and Interdisciplinary Treatments to Ortho and Maxillofacial Surgery.
In parallel to the main program, there will be a section for Oral and E-Poster presentations.
The Ambassadors’ Working Lunch, on Saturday, will focus on future cooperation and election of the 2026 MOIP President.
On Sunday, there will be the Awards Ceremony starting with the WFO Regional Award of Merit and the Welcome to the 2024 MOIP President.
Social events will allow us to share the joy of being together again.
Florence will host us with all its charm and elegance, in the Fortezza da Basso, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, which represents the ideal setting for such a great event!
My warmest thanks to all the MOIP Societies, their speakers and ambassadors.
It will be an unforgettable experience, and we sincerely look forward to welcoming you all in Florence.
